You're getting married! What's the first wedding planning task?

You found the one you love, you know you want to spend the rest of your lives together… now what?

The number one most important thing I believe you need to do when planning your wedding is talk to your future spouse. Don’t be afraid to share your dreams with each other, you are spending the rest of your lives together, it’s great to dream big together right away!

Good questions to ask each other:

Is there a particular date or location you would like?

Will you be planning something more traditional or out of the box?

Is this an intimate wedding or will it be more of a grand event?

How much do you want to do in preparation? Is this DIY or all inclusive?

Who is doing what?

Are you doing a reception with dinner and dance to celebrate?

Outside of actually getting married on your special day, what else is important to you?

So you lay out your ideals and sort out what is realistic and a must have and what’s not…the next most important step is figuring out the budget.

It’s scary how expensive things can get. To have a good idea of what your budget is really helps with answering a lot of questions. Make sure to do the research for what things cost and think about what a realistic budget can be.

Figuring out the dream and the cost will help you figure out how long and how hard you have to work to make it a reality.

Once you have your budget, your date ideas, and a start to a vision put together, it is time to start browsing pinterest boards, dress shops, officiants, photographers, venues, and DJ’s…maybe not booking yet, but definitely getting things together. This is a good time to attend a bridal show or talk to recently married couples.

This is a lot to help you prepare before you dive into booking a space. We hope it helps!
